Some people need to close an Instagram account permanently but are blocked by lost access, a locked profile, or confusion between deactivating and deleting. For accounts you own, we guide the process and help you prepare what Instagram may ask for. We verify that the account is yours before we start. Accounts with a blue verification badge may have extra steps.

We do not delete accounts that belong to other people, and we do not accept requests to take down an account just because you dislike its owner.

What we will not do
